Fed: Howard throws support behind Knowles

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD has thrown his support behind Western Australian Senator
SUE KNOWLES, who faces expulsion from the WA Liberal Party.

The WA Liberal Party's disciplinary committee has recommended Senator KNOWLES be expelled
over her long running fued with former powerbroker NOEL CRICHTON-BROWNE.

But Mr HOWARD has made it clear he has full confidence in Senator KNOWLES.

Also offering support today are Federal Attorney General DARRYL WILLIAMS, Forestry
Minister WILSON TUCKEY and West Australian Senator WINSTON CRANE.
