NSW: Govt has no plans to buy back Cross City Tunnel: Iemma

The New South Wales government says it has no secret plans to buy back Sydney's controversial
Cross City Tunnel.

Premier MORRIS IEMMA says they're not doing anything that would see the company walk
away with the best part of a billion dollars.

He says with the tunnel attracting only 30 thousand cars a day .. a third of its target
.. the operators need to do something to benefit motorists.

The Daily Telegraph said today the government might consider a billion-dollar buy-back
so they could reduce tolls and reopen closed traffic lanes.
